Just for You...

Hand made crafts were the order of the day this Mother's Day. We had:
paint,
ribbon,
glue,
&
gems...

All in an effort to make the best Mother's Day present ever.

The girls had a blast making our refrigerator message centers.
And somehow we did it without making too much of a mess.

It's A Hoe Down!

Mary's concert was on April 23rd, her theme was western. Since we aren't native to the state we are lacking in western wear...so for her outfit Mary choose to were a bandanna with her favorite Sunday dress.

She had a part were she spoke about pioneers coming into the state of Wyoming. She also played the bass xylophone (two boxes that stood alone) for one of the numbers.

But by far the hit of the show was the dancing. All of the kids danced the Virginia Reel...and then pop quiz. Were any of the adults paying attention because now YOU get to dance. So, Mary danced with her dad and had the most fun ever!

Hawaiian Ice

Kimberly's school concert was on April 16th. This was a rescheduled date because the first one was on a day when we had a major snow storm. Well guess what?...It snowed again for this date too and there was not another date available for rescheduling a second time.

The theme for the concert was summer...picture beaches, and swimming suits. Now think Wyoming winter storm warning...wind and snow, not to mention ice and freezing cold temperatures. That is the way Wyoming works. So snow or no snow the show must go on.

Kimberly choose to wear her costume despite the weather. On went the swimming suit and lava lava accessorized by a floaty and goggles. This was then followed by snow boots and a winter coat. Then with flip flops in had she was ready.

The concert was full of fun and happy song about ocean creatures. Kimberly's solo part was about octopus. She said, "And when he reaches to grab us he really means no harm." This is one little girl who loves the spotlight.

Happy 6th Birthday Emily!

Time sure does fly, she has gotten so big. Emily had two parties one with all her friends from school (April 17th) and one with Dad (April 21st - the actual birthday). I think next year a family party will be perfect. I just don't know how all of the other mothers do it.

(5 friends+4 siblings+1 birthday girl=10 crazy kids filled with sugar)

With Dad at work that made for one out of her mind mother, who has no idea what happened during the party, she is just glad to make it through. Everyone looked like they had fun.

Only for you, Emily, would I endure such madness...maybe for Mary, Kimberly, Amy & Brink too...how will I ever survive?

Put all these P words together to see what fun we had at Mary's 10th birthday party.

1. Park: we had the party at the park on May 16th (one week delayed due to cows). Unfortunalty this was a three day weekend from school, resulting in only 1 person out of the 8 people invited coming. Sad, sad Mary! Luckly that one was her BEST FRIEND. So, thanks to Katie, the party was saved. (our hero)


2. Puzzle: we started the party with a puzzle game. 1st clue, put together a jigsaw puzzle made from a picture of Mary. 2nd clue, use code on back of puzzle to solve this word game. 3rd retrive last clue from Dad's pocket as directed. 4th follow final directions to find where the puzzle ends.


3. Popsicles: the puzzle ended where Dominick had hidden our icechest full of popsicles and juice for the birthday treat.


4. Pinata: blindfolded kids, holding a bat with candy hanging just out of reach...need I say more?

All in all it was fun despite the poor turn out. Katie was able to spend the whole day with us something that could not have happened if everyone had come. At the end there was only room for one more P word. Pooped . . .man was I tired.

Aha!

Thanks to my kind friend (who is hip to all things blogging), I have had an "AHA!" moment. She explained how to make my collage photos bigger, so you can now click on them to see more detail if you want, but no one is forcing you. Oh come on, you know you want to...just this one...OK maybe one more.

You play the high notes and I'll play the low...

Hey, hey, hey playmate come.
Come out and play with me....

The piano is a favorite pastime of Brink and his buddy Jonah. They treated us all to a concert the last time I was babysitting. I am not sure it they were practicing proper technique, but I have to give them an A+ where volume is concerned. Playing together is so much more fun than playing alone.

And playing is what these two love the best. Add two toddlers to one piano and what do you get?
